Shining Stars Preschool has become a gem in our community.  Not only do the children in our programs shine, but our teachers sparkle as well.  If a school is only as good as its teachers, then Shining Stars is one of the best.  We currently offer two programs, Red Stars and Blue Stars, for children ages three to five.  Each program has two highly qualified teachers with college degrees, including bachelor's or master's degrees in early childhood or elementary education.  We are also blessed to have an amazing teacher's aide to assist in both our classrooms.

PRESCHOOL TEACHERS

Amanda Braganholo

Amanda grew up in the north Dallas area and graduated from the University of North Texas with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (Early Childhood-8th Grade certifications). She taught 4th grade for six years in Georgetown ISD and moved to Park City in 2016 with her husband, Paulo, and their little ones. She took time to stay home with her three young children and fell in love with the sweet wonder of the toddler and preschool age. Amanda’s youngest children came through Shining Stars, while Amanda served on the Board for two years. When not teaching, she loves spending time with her family, hiking, and enjoying the outdoors!

 Ms. Rachel

Rachel grew up in Salt Lake City and graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Elementary Education.  She taught Kindergarten at Rowland Hall in Salt Lake City before moving to Park City, where she taught 1st grade at the Weilenmann School of Discovery.  She took a break from teaching while her kids were tiny, but always knew that she would find herself back in the classroom where she feels most at home and joyful!  Rachel has lived in Park City for ten years with her husband, James, and their two energetic little boys.  When not teaching, she loves exploring our beautiful mountain town and adventuring with her boys!

Ms. Kristi

Ms. Kristi is originally from Northern California, where she attended San Francisco State University. She graduated with a BA in Psychology and Criminal Justice and then went back to get her Multiple Subject (Grades K-6th) teaching credential with an emphasis in Reading. Kristi worked for the Rancho Santa Fe School District outside of San Diego as a reading specialist for 2 years. She also taught in Northern California for 2 years as a first-grade teacher. Before teaching at Shining Stars, Kristi was Administrator and Co-Administrator for 4 years. Kristi has lived in Park City for 12 years with her husband, Todd, and their two kids, Hudson and Reese. When not teaching, she loves to spend time with her family, cooking, gardening and hiking.  

Ms. Melissa 

Ms. Melissa is originally from Orange County, California, where she attended Chapman University. She graduated with a BA in Sociology and then went back to get her Multiple Subject (Grades K-6th) teaching credential with an emphasis in Reading. Melissa worked for the City of Orange organizing and implementing their elementary school's after-school programs. She also worked for Garden Grove School District and became a semi-permanent substitute teacher in a Kindergarten class. Before teaching at Shining Stars, Melissa was Administrator and Co-Administrator for 4 years. Melissa has lived in Park City for 16 years with her husband, Chris, and their three kids. This will be her 8th year teaching at Shining Stars.  When not teaching, she loves to spend time with her family, read or go for a great run or hike!
