Shining Stars Parent Commitments
At our cooperative preschool, we believe that parental involvement is essential to creating a thriving learning environment for our students. As members of The Shining Stars School community, parents are expected to make a commitment to actively participate in their child's education and contribute to the success of our program in each of the ways outlined below:
Co-Op in Classroom
One parent of every student is expected to work in the classroom at least once a month. We understand that life happens and will work with families to accommodate schedules, but the baseline expectation of each family is to work in the classroom once a month.
Attend One Classroom Clean-Up
One parent of every student is expected to attend one classroom cleanup each school year. This is usually a 2-3 hour event where we deep clean the classrooms for our students. The classroom cleanups typically take place in August and May, but scheduling is subject to change.
Fulfill Parent Job
One parent of every student is expected to select a year-long parent job at the back-to-school parent meeting prior to the start of the school year. The parent jobs are designed to be diverse enough to provide "something for everyone." The parent job descriptions are provided in more detail on the FAQ page.
Tuition Commitment
As a member of The Shining Stars School cooperative community, your child's enrollment is considered to be a commitment to a full school year. If you choose to withdraw your child from the school, you will be expected to continue paying monthly tuition until your child's spot has been filled.
